It's embarrassing for any of us to get caught fibbing, but it's even worse when you're famous and the whole world finds out. From ridiculous excuses to denying rumours that later turn out to be true, here's a roundup of the biggest celebrity gaffs when it comes to telling porky pies.
Selena Gomez on Justin Bieber
When Selena Gomez appeared on the Ellen Show and was asked if she was dating Justin Bieber the squeaky clean Disney star said: ""He's little. He's like my little brother. That's weird to me." When the star made another appearance on the show, Ellen played the clip back leaving Selena red faced.
Li-Lo's court excuses
When Li-Lo was ordered to wear an alcohol monitoring bracelet and put under house arrest in Los Angeles, the star tried to get herself off the hook by saying was filming a movie in Texas later that month. When the press contacted the movies she was involved with to determine her filming schedule, turns out she wasn't due to film at all. Busted Li-Lo!
Kim Kardashian on her marriage
Kim Kardashian gushed about her marriage to Kris Humphries just weeks before she filed for divorce to Marie Claire magazine. But it seems Kim wasn't telling the truth. The reality star said in the interview: "I feel like where we're at right now is the best time in my life." She went on to say: "He's such a good guy; he is so down-to-earth, and it's such a reality check. He is a normal guy, and I just want to chill out and be normal." He was 'such a good guy' that she filed for divorce just weeks later.
Gillian McKeith on I'm a Celeb
The porky pies appeared to spill out of Gillian McKeith's mouth on 'I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here'. On one show she claimed to have almost drowned yet in another, she declared to have never been underwater before. She also said that she'd never watched an episode of the show yet later declared on another task said that the only person who would understand what she was going through was former contestant, Katie Price. This Morning host Holly Willoughby also noticed, tweeting: "It's weird how Gillian knows so much about Katie Price when she's never seen a show before?"
Agyness Deyn and her age
Celebs are renowned for rounding-down their ages but model Agyness Deyn shaved a cool six years of her age. Her old school friends noticed and started up a Facebook page that read: "Agyness Deyn, AKA Laura Hollins, is not 18, or 21 or any of the other ages she claims to be." Deyn came clean recently and said she changed her age (and name) when she started out, as she began modelling later than other new faces.
Snooki on pregnancy
Jersey Shore star Snooki clearly knows that pregnant celebs can make a bit of cash in the process. The reality star denied being pregnant while negotiating a deal with Us Weekly to sell the rights to her pregnancy. After first pitching the rights to other magazines to source the best deal, obviously.
Tiger Woods and his womanising
As far as celebrity lies go, Tiger Woods and his cheating ways has to be one of the most memorable. More than 15 other women have come forward claiming to have had relationships with the star. It's not surprising that Woods decided to step out of the spotlight for a while following the embarrassing revelations.
