Selena Gomez, One Direction, Justin Bieber Up For Awards - BSCkids

It is that time of the year again when MTV prepares for their 2012 MTV Music Video Awards (aka: VMAs). They just released their nominees for this year and some fan favorites are up this year. One Direction and Justin Bieber are up for two awards each, while The Wanted, Selena Gomez, and Demi Lovato are each up for one. Nothing major by far, but still exciting news for the fans of the respective artist. Fans can vote right now for their favorites on the official VMA website. The actual award show will air on September 6th, live on MTV. You can read the full nominee list down at the bottom of this post.

I am happy that The Wanted and One Direction are both up for an award. I feel like The Wanted is often overlooked and while they haven’t step off on the right foot at first, they do deserve to have a shot at the award. I am also glad that Demi is up for the Best Video with a Message category, but I would assume that she and Selena would be up for a lot more. They both have worked so hard and made incredible gains career wise, it would seem like they would deserve much more respect. Granted, it is only for music videos and not their albums/singles as a whole. I hope when rest of the award season kicks in, these two pick up a lot of awards at the events.

How do you like this year’s nominees? Should Justin and One Direction be up for more awards? I think a lot of people will feel like they should, but I will say that both acts didn’t fair badly. I think they could easily win both awards each and while some may think that they should wipe the award show clean, I think we should be thankful that they have are up for their awards and root for them to win, along with Selena, The Wanted and Demi of course.
