Selena Gomez and Lady Gaga are both perfume novices, with each of the young ladies releasing their very first fragrances in 2012. Selena Gomezâs eponymous perfume comes in a bottle that very much reflects Selâs super sweet persona, while Lady Gagaâs Fame fragrance bottle reflects her high-fashion ferocity. Are you more a pink gal like Sel, or would you prefer Gagaâs black eau de parfume sitting on your vanity?
As you can see from the bottles and their print ads below, Selena Gomezâs perfume and Lady Gagaâs have nothing in common except for the fact that both make you smell good. The âLove You Like a Love Songâ singer is quite a girly girl, so we werenât surprised to see a pink and purple theme (with some gold accents) for her Selena Gomez perfume. We love the lips at the top of the cap, and the sleek design is very feminine as well.
According to Fragrantica, the perfume housed inside Selâs super cute bottle smells like mostly like raspeberries, but also has hints of âsweet orange, pineapple and peach.â There are also notes of âpurple freesia, Cosmone musk, dewberryâ finished with tones of âvanilla, amber, chocolate and coconut.â
On the contrary, Lady Gagaâs Fame bottle is as fierce as Mother Monster herself. Fame has a gold cap that resembles Gagaâs signature monster claw, and the round clear base encases the first-ever black perfume (which of course, sprays on clear). It looks like some sort of evil potion out of fantasy movie, and we dig its originality and ultra-cool design. Itâs definitely different and innovative like the singer.
And according to Fragrantica, the making of Fame is just as complex as its outward design. The perfume has three accords: âdark accord, sensual accord and light accord.â The site continues, âThe dark accord includes poisonous flower Belladonna and incense, which evolve into the sensual and opulent wave of honey drops, saffron and apricot. A floral veil of Sambac jasmine and tiger orchid embody light and beauty.â Although it sounds a bit crazy, weâve smelled this one ourselves, and it smells damn good.
