On August 31, Justin Bieber took to his Twitter page to inform his legions of true Beliebers of a momentous event. The Biebs just got a new tattoo. Yes, JB's seventh and most recent ink is a relatively small crown appearing on his upper chest just below his right shoulder.
In the accompanying photo, it is indeed difficult to see the Biebs' new ink. That's largely because instead of simply taking the photo himself standing before a mirror or having one of his crew or perhaps Selena Gomez snap it for him, the Teen Dream decided to make the shot more visually problematic, and simultaneously much more controversial. He's lying, semi-prone, on a bed, very close to the camera. Since he's shirtless, but his lower body is not visible, the pic gives the impression that he's naked. It's a cute, playfully sexy pic, obviously meant to turn his fans on. And it no doubt succeeded. Unfortunately, it's also turned some members of the media off. Way off.
"And what have we got here?" sneered the Globe and Mail. "A half-naked Biebs in bed this afternoon, tweeting a photo of his new tattoo. Ugh."
Oh well. Even the Never Say Never guy can't please all the people all the time. Predictably, his fans loved it, although one of them had a minor reservation.
"I LOVE ALL the TATOOS THAT JUSTIN HAS with this bt IM afraid that he'd get hepatitis(jst kidding)" the concerned Belieber wrote. "love bieb n his tattoos.damn sexxxy hottie"
For those who may have lost track, Justin's other 6 tattoos are as follows: He has a Jonathan Livingston seagull on his left hip, the word Jesus spelled out in Hebrew letters on his left ribcage, a picture of the face of Jesus on his left calf, a pair of praying hands on the same calf below the Jesus face, the name of his album "BELIEVE" on the inside of his left forearm, and the word "music" written as a Japanese Kanji symbol on his right forearm.
So, there you have it. You can click here to see Justin Bieber's new tattoo. Selena Gomez's reaction to her "Boyfriend's" new ink is still unknown. However, somewhere David Letterman is clenching his fists and screaming: "No!!!"
Oh well, he'll get over it.
