Selena Gomez is making sure the world knows she is no longer a child star.
The former Wizards of Waverly Place actress is heading to the Venice Film Festival for the premiere of her edgy new movie Spring Breakers, and she is also showing off a feisty new rock image.
Wearing studded biker boots, black leggings, white top and black sunglasses, the 20-year-old pop singer looked more like a rock star as she left Paris Airport to attend the Italian film premiere on Wednesday.

She barely looked at photographers as she made her way briskly past the crowds.
The girlfriend of Justin Bieber will be at the world premiere of Spring Breakers at The Venice Film Festival on September 5.
The risque movie marks a departure from Gomez.

Directed by Harmony Korine, who wrote the controversial 1995 indie movie Kids, the film stars Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine as four bikini clad college girls who steal money to fund their spring break trip.
However, things don't go as planed, and soon they become entangle with vicious drug dealer, played by James Franco.
GomezÂ parades around in a teeny bikini for most of the movie, and is also involved with drugs and booze.

Gomez posted on her Twitter page over the weekend: 'Off to Venice for the big premiere of Spring Breakers!!!'
She told Interview magazine about the bold new movie choice: 'It was a mark thing for meâ"like, "This is what I want to be doing." I want to be taking myself seriously as an actress, and this was definitely a stretch.
Selena continued: 'I was getting kind of repetitive in terms of the roles I was picking, and I really wanted to do something that was completely different.'

Gomez told Teen Vogue last month that she never make another romantic comedy like last year's Monte Carlo, favouring more gritty fare.
A three minute preview of Spring Breakers was aired at this year's Cannes Film Festival, and critics waxed lyrical over the footage.
A short clip was also released on the internet recently.
Spring Breakers will be released next year.
